About Me
Hi there! My name is Alex Hernandez. I am currently enrolled as student in the College of Arts and Sciences/Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs as well as the Newhouse School of Public Communications.

I am studying political science and public relations. As of right now I am considering law school as my best next step. I am interested in helping out the community that I grew up in and providing a voice to those who are often discarded by those in power. I am still finding out what I like to do in relation to public relations but I feel like I would be best at crisis communication. I strive to make myself clear and know how to take constructive criticism when it is offered.
When you can't find me working or studying you can find me either in my room or by the beach soaking in the natural ambiance.

So far most of my experience has come from being a lifeguard. About a year ago, I gained more certifications that led me to become a water safety instructor and a lifeguard instructor. Now I am adding to my experience as a supervisor and learning how to lead a team.

I earned my high school diploma from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA.
I am currently in the process of earning a BA in Political Science from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. I am also currently in the process of earning a BS in Public Relations from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

I believe my best skills are my ability to empathize and desire to build community.

I personally love sports, photography, nature, politics, and social justice.

I am a part of many organizations on Syracuse's campus but am most active in: Men Cultivating Impact (MCI), Mexican Student Association at Syracuse (MEXSACUSE), South American and Latine Student Association (SALSA). Latine Undergraduates Creating History in America (LA LUCHA), Palestinian Solidarity Association (PSA), and Young Democratic Socialists of America at Syracuse University (YDSA).
